Carbon nanotubes, as one-dimensional nanomaterials, are lightweight, have perfect hexagonal structure connections, and possess many extraordinary mechanical, electrical and chemical properties.

Carbon nanotubes, also known as bucky tubes, are one-dimensional quantum materials with a special structure (radial dimensions at the nanometer level, axial dimensions at the micrometer level, and both ends of the tube are basically sealed). Carbon nanotubes are mainly composed of coaxial tubes with several to dozens of layers of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal pattern. A fixed distance is maintained between layers, approximately 0.34nm, and the diameter is generally 2 to 20 nm. And according to the different orientations of the carbon hexagon along the axial direction, it can be divided into three types: sawtooth type, armchair type and spiral type. Among them, the helical carbon nanotubes are chiral, while the sawtooth-shaped and armchair carbon nanotubes are not chiral.

Performance
Nanocarbon fibers have a small specific surface area, allowing for direct addition of powder and good dispersion performance, which improves the consistency of battery cells. 

Nanocarbon fibers have very few impurities, which reduces self-discharge and enhances the consistency and safety of battery cells. 

It is long in length (about 6um), which can inhibit the expansion of active substances during battery charging and discharging and cycling processes, and maintain the lithium ion conduction path in the active substances. The electron and ion transmission will not be interrupted, thereby improving the cycle life and battery safety. 

The microstructure of nano-carbon fibers is multi-layered and hollow, which enables the positive and negative electrodes to absorb more electrolyte, allowing lithium ions to be smoothly and rapidly intercalated, which is conducive to high-rate charging and discharging. 

The high electrical and thermal conductivity characteristics also increase the thermal conductivity coefficients of both the positive and negative electrodes, which is beneficial for heat dissipation.
